What Happened
Audi has added two new services to its Audi Application Store: EasyPark and ryd. EasyPark automatically detects parking spots in over 60,000 locations across 1,300 European cities and handles payment via the MMI display. Ryd processes payments for fueling, charging, and car washes at more than 10,000 fuel stations and over a million charging points in Europe, including 90% of charging points in Germany. Both apps require a one-time setup and a user account with the provider.
The integration uses GPS triggers to open the app automatically when the vehicle is in a supported area. For parking, a pop-up appears when the car stops and the transmission is in park; one tap starts the digital parking meter. For fueling, the app detects nearby stations, guides the user to select pump, enter amount, and pay—all from the MMI. Charging works similarly, with the e-tron route planner preconditioning the battery if needed. Car washes can be booked with a few clicks.
