What Happened
Dakar Rally glory can now roll into personal garage spaces in Canada for the first time, with the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica offered in extremely limited numbers and arriving in a pure competition spec. KTM says the factory-derived model is made for budding rally raiders who want a competitive edge, and for offroad motorcyclists eager to sample the engineering that swept to yet another overall victory this year in the world's toughest race event. For half a decade the 450 Rally Replica has been KTM's pure expression of technical rally supremacy, with research and development for components, performance and settings filtering directly from competition.
- Limited edition READY TO RACE model
- First ever availability in Canada
- Unrivaled 450 cc SOHC fuel-injected engine
- Race-spec chassis developed through competition
- Carbon fiber RALLY tower and bright LED lights
- WP XACT PRO 48 mm closed cartridge forks (Cone Valve)
At the heart of the bike is the 450 cc fuel-injected SOHC engine, armed with a six-speed gearbox and a premium Brembo hydraulic clutch with rally specific gearing, while a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system trims weight and maximizes the power punch. The hydro-formed, laser-cut and hand-welded frame is crafted for a blend of longitude and torsional flex, which KTM says gives a prime feeling of rider feedback along with stability and assurance. That is boosted further by fully customizable WP PRO suspension that is easily adjustable. Up front, the 48 mm WP XACT PRO 7548 Closed Cartridge Cone Valve fork is claimed to deliver exceptional damping performance and superior resistance to bottoming, while at the rear the WP XACT PRO 7750 fully customizable shock is intended to ensure confidence, comfort and reliability.
The bike is equipped with rally-spec particulars: dual radiators spread the responsibility of cooling and increase reliability in the case of unwanted damage from the terrain. The triple clamps use a 23 mm offset and are CNC machined for extra stiffness at a low weight, the upper clamp features an in-house developed PHDS system and a SCOTTS steering damper, and the aluminum alloy tapered handlebar has rally-tested foam rubber grips, with footpegs using a wider surface area for better grip. A carbon-fiber navigation tower crests a purposeful cockpit intended for a digital roadbook with intuitive controls and a powerful LED, part of ergonomics that emphasize comfort while standing and sitting for long distances. The bodywork and aerodynamics aim for the tricky mix of optimum positioning, both for protection from the elements and a stance for control and quick reactions.
9.11 gallons (34.5 liters)
Extended by a three fuel tank construction, matched to strong Brembo braking power.
Other features include factory carbon parts, a Selle Dalla Valle seat that KTM calls both a visual and performance improvement, Michelin Starcross 6 Medium/Soft tires, and a powerful LED headlight package for excellent visibility during early morning starts or late-night returns to the bivouac. The 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica is the only customer race model developed, produced and assembled by the official KTM Motorsports facility in Austria, and KTM describes it as the only choice for seasoned pros and ambitious privateers alike. The ultra-exclusive model will begin arriving at authorized KTM dealers this fall.

Previously from KTM AG
Earlier in September, KTM North America published an announcement for the 2027 KTM 450 SMR model. Like today's news, that was a 2027 model-year announcement from KTM for the North American market.

Why this matters
The launch gives Canadian buyers their first chance to own KTM's Dakar-derived rally racer, a machine that previously was not offered there. It matters most to privateer rally competitors and offroad riders who want factory competition engineering, and it illustrates how KTM's race development filters into a customer model. KTM says the bike is built at its official Motorsports facility in Austria.
