Reading MotorClaw
You do not need an account, newsletter subscription or feedback submission to read MotorClaw. Subscription and feedback features may be unavailable while they are being prepared.
Email subscriptions
When subscriptions are open, the signup form sends your email address to beehiiv, our newsletter provider, together with where you signed up and the version of the subscription notice you accepted. New subscribers confirm their address before receiving MotorClaw emails. beehiiv manages delivery, confirmation and unsubscribe requests. Your email address is not stored in our article database or attached to article feedback.
Use the unsubscribe link in any edition to stop receiving the newsletter. For removal of your subscription data, contact the Desk at [email protected].
Private feedback
Usefulness choices and optional notes go privately to the MotorClaw Desk. They are not published and do not subscribe you to email. We store the article identity, response, submission time and a hashed browser reference in Google Cloud Firestore. Please do not include personal or sensitive details in a note.
Votes and notes remain active for 12 months; retry receipts and abuse-control records remain active for seven days. The service ignores records as soon as their expiry time passes. A bounded cleanup removes expired records, normally within seven days of expiry. To request earlier removal, email [email protected] with the article link and the private feedback reference shown after your submission.
Browser storage and abuse protection
On your first submission we create a random browser reference and, where your browser permits it, save it locally to distinguish repeat votes. A separate local acknowledgement remembers that you have requested a newsletter signup; it does not verify membership. These values are not reader accounts. Clearing browser storage removes them, and disabled storage uses a temporary reference.
Cloudflare Turnstile loads when you submit a form to help reject automated abuse. Submission endpoints use hashed browser references and sitewide counters for rate limits; we do not store raw IP addresses in feedback records. Hosting and security providers may maintain their own operational logs.
Site analytics
When enabled, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity help us understand site use. They load after interaction or a delay and may use cookies or similar browser storage under their own policies. Email fields, private notes and feedback references are marked for masking in Clarity. We do not send your email address or note text as analytics events.
