What Happened
Ather Energy unveiled the Konarc electric two-wheeler at its annual Community Day event in Bengaluru, establishing entry-level pricing at Rs 99,999 ex-showroom. The scooter is the inaugural commercial model constructed on Ather's EL platform, transitioning from the extruded aluminium frames and composite plastics of previous models to a high-tensile steel frame with sheet-metal exterior panels.
The model line launches with three tiers: the S 100 equipped with a 2.1 kWh battery and 4 kW electric motor providing 100 km of IDC range; the S 125 pairing a 2.7 kWh pack with a 4.7 kW motor for 125 km of range; and the S 161 delivering 161 km of IDC range from a 3.5 kWh battery. All three variants produce 16 Nm of torque and reach a top speed of 70 km/h.
