What Happened

BMW M Motorsport customer racing teams continued their successful season across multiple championships last weekend. Head of Customer Racing Björn Lellmann noted that despite the holiday season, teams are still collecting trophies with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Key highlights included a victory in the Italian GT Championship at Mugello and podium finishes in ADAC GT4 Germany that propelled two teams into the championship leads.

Race results across BMW M Motorsport series (July 17-26)
  1. 17-19 July

GT4 European Series at Misano: three class podium finishes for BMW M4 GT4 EVO teams.

  2. 17-18 July

International GT Open at Le Castellet: 3rd in Pro-Am class for 4F PTT Racing Team.

  3. 24-26 July

Italian GT Championship at Mugello: Klingmann and de Wilde win Sunday race; Ceccato Racing regains championship lead.

  4. 24-26 July

ADAC GT4 Germany at Oschersleben: Piana and Sylvestersson take 3rd and 2nd, move into drivers' championship lead by 1 point.

  5. 24-26 July

GT4 Australia at Darwin: Jay Murray finishes 3rd overall in race two.

For us, Mugello was a very important weekend, a real key event. We were very happy with fifth place on Saturday. After our victory at Vallelunga, we had to serve the 15-second pit stop penalty stipulated by the regulations. So, Saturday was all about maximising our points haul and avoiding mistakes. On Sunday, we went all in with one clear objective: to win the race. The team did a fantastic job,

In ADAC GT4 Germany, Gabriele Piana and Benjamin Sylvestersson of FK Performance Motorsport secured a double podium weekend at Oschersleben, finishing third on Saturday and second on Sunday in the #51 BMW M4 GT4 EVO. That gave them a one-point lead in the drivers' standings at the season's halfway point. In the teams' standings, FK Performance sits second, while ME Motorsport also scored points. Linus Hahne and Phillip Wiskirchen finished sixth and just missed the podium on Sunday, while Michael Maniszewski and Daniel Drexel won the Pro-Am class on Saturday.

Overall, we can be very happy with the weekend. Regaining the championship lead is a great result. Today’s race was anything but easy, but the team did a fantastic job and we made the most of our opportunities. Our focus now shifts to the Nürburgring, where we want to build on this performance and hopefully achieve another strong result.
Benjamin Sylvestersson, FK Performance Motorsport driver

In the GT4 European Series at Misano, the BMW M4 GT4 EVO scored three class podium finishes. Joakim Walde and Victor Bouveng finished second in the Pro-Am class in race one, while Davide Meloni and Paolo Meloni claimed third in class in both races. BMW M Racing Academy member Thomi Rackl and Gabriele Piana narrowly missed the podium with fourth in race two. Separate GT4 Australia and International GT Open results added further podiums for BMW customer teams.

Why this matters

These results show the strength of BMW's customer racing program and the M4 GT3/GT4 platforms in competitive championships. For teams like Ceccato Racing and FK Performance Motorsport, the outcomes set up title-deciding finales, while fans see BMW's engineering success across multiple GT series.
