What Happened

The BMW M2 compact high-performance sports car now offers an all-wheel-drive option for the first time. The new BMW M2 with M xDrive splits power between front and rear axles via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch, maintaining rear-wheel bias. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the rear-wheel-drive version.

The 3.0-liter straight-six engine features BMW M Ignite technology with a pre-chamber combustion process derived from racing. This reduces fuel consumption under high loads and helps meet EU7 regulations. Combined fuel consumption is 10.4–10.3 l/100 km.
