BMW Motorrad unveils Vision K18 concept motorcycle with inline-six engine at Villa d'Este

BMW Motorrad presented the Vision K18 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como. Conceived as a one-off vision bike, it stands for uncompromising passion, confident long-distance performance, and outstanding visual presence. The design reimagines long-distance travel as a sensual experience, with emotion at the center and performance as the key theme.

At the heart of the concept is a traditional 1,800 cm³ inline six-cylinder engine, which serves as both a design and technical centerpiece. The engine inspired a complete rethink of the vehicle, with proportions subordinate to the drivetrain. The elongated silhouette takes cues from high-speed aircraft like the Concorde, conveying dynamism even at a standstill.

The Vision K18 showcases craftsmanship with hand-formed aluminum bodywork, including a seamless side panel over two meters long. Contrasting materials like aluminum and forged carbon, along with flame-sprayed surfaces, create a bright, metallic look reminiscent of classic Formula 1 exhaust headers. Visible technical highlights include a hydraulically lowerable suspension and an actively cooled headlight.
