The BMW X3 M50 xDrive makes even more of a mark with a new Black Package, available from December, that is exclusive to this M Performance model and emphasises the BMW M DNA inherent in it. The package adds motorsport-inspired accents inside and out. At the same time, the 3.0-litre straight-six petrol engine's output rises by 33 kW (45 hp) to 326 kW (443 hp), and all BMW X3 models benefit from targeted product enhancements.

BMW announces the Black Package for the BMW X3 M50 xDrive and a 33 kW (45 hp) increase for its 3.0-litre straight-six engine.
The Black Package becomes available and the performance improvements, which do not depend on the Black Package, apply to all BMW X3 M50 xDrive models; interior enhancements arrive across the entire BMW X3 series.
All models in the BMW X3 series get interior enhancements from December 2026. The area in front of the central display comes with a PVC Softskin surface and the instrument panel with a new stitching pattern, while the storage compartment in the centre console and the inside door handles gain ambient lighting. A new glove box opener design and stainless-steel edge guards for the boot sill complete the changes, with the edge guards offered only on the X3 30e xDrive and X3 M50 xDrive. All BMW X3s with the M Sport Package and all M Performance models get entry sills in Dark Silver with a black M logo.
The straight-six in the X3 M50 xDrive meets all the stipulations of the Euro 7 emissions standard, and the four-cylinder engine in the BMW X3 20 xDrive is now Euro 7 compliant as well. BMW quotes combined energy consumption of 8.8-8.1 l/100 km and combined CO2 emissions of 199-185 g/km under WLTP for the X3 M50 xDrive, with CO2 class G. The X3 20 xDrive is listed at 8.2-7.4 l/100 km and 185-169 g/km under WLTP, with CO2 classes G-F.
Previously from BMW
In late September 2026, BMW laid out its autumn 2026 model updates, spanning a new Black Package for M Performance 2 and 4 Series models, the launch of new 7 Series and X5 variants, and in-car Amazon Prime Video. That same announcement also flagged a power boost for the X3 M50.

Why this matters
The power increase applies to every BMW X3 M50 xDrive, not only cars ordered with the styling package, so buyers get more performance from December regardless. All BMW X3 models also receive interior updates at the same time, and both the straight-six and the X3 20 xDrive's four-cylinder engine now meet the Euro 7 emissions standard.
