Ferrari’s 296 GT Modificata pushes the 296 GT3 recipe beyond racing rules
Ferrari has created a track-only 296 with 730hp, race-derived aerodynamics and access limited to its customer track-driving programme.
- 2026
What Happened
The new 296 GT Modificata is Ferrari’s unrestricted track special built from the 296 GT3 Evo. It will be offered only through the marque’s Club Competizioni GT programme, which gives owners access to a customer racing series.
Ferrari’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 delivers 730hp and 800Nm after losing the road car’s hybrid system. A six-speed sequential transmission and revised bodywork help the manufacturer claim a 1 minute 11 second lap at Fiorano.
Why this matters
The car turns race development into a club product that can be sold without the constraints of a road-car or GT3 homologation programme.
