What Happened
The technical initiative advances the company's electric powertrain systems beyond its current 800-volt hardware baseline, which encompasses drive motors, onboard charging units, power electronics, and wiring harnesses. The forthcoming 1,000-volt setup is engineered to align upcoming passenger models with the group's dedicated charging grid.
1,500 kWkW
Peak capacity per point across network of over 2,100 charging locations
Recent evaluation runs on an 800-volt Lynk & Co 01 saloon equipped with a 95 kWh battery operating at 772.8 nominal volts completed a 10 to 80 percent charge cycle in 5 minutes and 32 seconds, achieving 10 to 97 percent replenishment in 8 minutes and 42 seconds. During tests at a Zeekr fast-charging hub, the prototype momentarily registered peak power transfer of 1,100 kW.

Geely previously confirmed deploying over 2,100 high-speed Zeekr plugs rated up to 1.5 MW peak throughput. Alongside high-voltage electrical development, the manufacturer aims to begin vehicle trials in 2027 utilizing solid-state battery chemistry targeted to deliver 500 Wh/kg energy density and exceeding 1,000 kilometres of driving radius.
Why this matters
The high-voltage platform transition allows production electric vehicles to tap the group's network of ultra-fast chargers capable of delivering up to 1.5 megawatts. Deploying systems beyond 800-volt baselines accelerates charging speed competition across Chinese manufacturing groups.
