“Growing profitably in the first nine months of 2026 demonstrates the strength of our customer-focused business model. This is an important foundation for managing the challenges of more difficult conditions in the coming year, including even greater competition and margin pressure as a result of our successful electrification drive. In the first nine months, we increased deliveries by 6.1 per cent and defended our position as the 2nd best-selling car brand in Europe while increasing operating profit by 7.4 per cent and achieving an 8.3 per cent return on sales. This is the result of our broadest and freshest model portfolio, financial discipline, and ongoing efficiency improvements. I want to thank our customers for their trust in our brand as well as our employees, suppliers, dealer partners, and the KOVO trade union. We will need this teamwork to maintain our momentum and to navigate future challenges.”

In Europe (EU27+4), 29.8% of Škoda cars delivered came with a plug, the brand ranks fifth among BEV brands there, and the Elroq and Enyaq are the third and fourth best-selling BEV models in Europe. The Elroq is the best-selling electric car in Denmark, Germany and Slovakia, second in the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Switzerland and third in Poland and Austria, while the Enyaq leads the electric market in the Czech Republic and ranks in the top three in Austria, Denmark, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Škoda doubled its electric portfolio this year with the Epiq, produced in Spain, and the Peaq SUV, built at the main plant in Mladá Boleslav, drawing more than 82,000 orders for the two by mid-October and taking the range to a record 14 model series.

Previously from Škoda

Earlier in October, Škoda expanded the Kodiaq line-up with a new range-topping Laurin & Klement trim and a 200 kW plug-in hybrid, 50 kW more than the current version, with DC fast charging at up to 50 kW. The brand also added a Sportline version to the Epiq, its smallest and most affordable all-electric SUV, combining sporty styling with two powertrain choices and up to 440 km of range.

Why this matters

The figures show Škoda growing both sales volume and profit while it sharpens its electric line-up, which affects buyers, plant workers and suppliers across Europe and India. The company also flags harder conditions ahead — greater competition and margin pressure stemming from its electrification drive — making the 8.3% return on sales the number to watch.
