What Happened
Dakar Rally glory can roll into American garages for the first time, with the 2027 KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA available in the United States in extremely limited numbers and arriving in pure competition spec. The factory-derived model is aimed at budding rally raiders who want a competitive edge and at offroad motorcyclists eager to sample the engineering that swept to yet another overall victory this year at the world's toughest race event. For half a decade the 450 RALLY REPLICA has been KTM's pure expression of technical rally supremacy, with components, performance and settings filtered directly from competition, and it has figured prominently at the peak of RallyGP.
At the heart of the bike is a 450 cc fuel-injected SOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and a premium Brembo hydraulic clutch with rally-specific gearing, while a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system trims weight and maximizes the power punch. The hydro-formed, laser-cut and hand-welded frame is engineered for a blend of longitude and torsional flex, giving prime rider feedback plus stability and assurance. That is boosted further by fully customizable WP PRO suspension that is easily adjustable: up front, the proven 48 mm WP XACT PRO 7548 Closed Cartridge Cone Valve fork delivers exceptional damping and superior resistance to bottoming; at the rear, the WP XACT PRO 7750 fully customizable shock is built for confidence, comfort and reliability.
9.11gallons (34.5 liters)
A three fuel tank construction extends capacity so the bike can go the distance in multi-stage competition.
- Dual radiators spread the cooling load and add reliability if the terrain causes damage
- CNC triple clamps with 23 mm offset for extra stiffness at low weight
- Upper clamp with in-house developed PHDS system and a SCOTTS steering damper
- Aluminum alloy tapered handlebar with rally-tested foam rubber grips
- Footpegs with a wider surface area for better grip
- Brembo braking power matched to the bike's long-distance capability
The cockpit is crested by a carbon-fiber navigation tower that can carry a digital roadbook with intuitive controls and a powerful LED, part of unique ergonomics that emphasize comfort while standing and sitting over long distances. The bodywork and aerodynamics achieve the tricky mix of optimum positioning, both for protection from the elements and a stance for control and quick reactions. Other features include factory carbon parts, a Selle Dalla Valle seat and Michelin Starcross 6 Medium/Soft tires, plus a powerful LED headlight package for excellent visibility on early morning starts or late-night returns to the bivouac. The 2027 KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA is the only customer race model developed, produced and assembled by the official KTM Motorsports facility in Austria, and it will begin arriving at authorized KTM dealers this fall.
