Mercedes-Benz Vans brings refrigerated Vito, Sprinter and electric eSprinter to Rolling Pin Convention 2026

What Happened

Mercedes-Benz Vans is attending the Rolling Pin Convention 2026 in Düsseldorf as official mobility partner, showing how modern vans can bring products to their destination cooled and under suitable transport conditions. Mercedes-Benz says it has offered customers tailored solutions for their logistics and transport needs for 130 years, beginning with the first Benz delivery van in 1896 and now extending to customised vehicles for retail and eGrocery, gastronomy and hotels. On the Mercedes-Benz stand and on an outdoor area, the company is displaying Vito, Sprinter and eSprinter models fitted with various fresh-food conversion solutions.

Refrigerated vehicles on show
  • Mercedes-Benz Vito with a cooling conversion from Kerstner GmbH: its compact dimensions and flat roof-mounted cooling unit make it suitable for many underground car parks.
  • Sprinter with a cooling conversion from Winter Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH: an underfloor-mounted cooling unit with no additional roof structure, which can have a positive effect on aerodynamics and thereby support energy or fuel consumption.
  • Sprinter with a cooling box body from Kiesling Fahrzeugbau GmbH: a specialist transporter for frozen and fresh products with a large cargo area.
  • Fully electric eSprinter with a cooling conversion from Kerstner GmbH, presented as a novelty: it allows the cooling unit to operate electrically from the onboard power supply.
  • All three of the other solutions are available ex works in the Mercedes-Benz VanSolution industry solution programme.

An electric power take-off (ePTO) supplies the eSprinter's cooling unit during charging, while driving and during delivery stops. Mercedes-Benz is also complementing its range of vehicles with the new electric VLE: the Grand Limousine is the first vehicle based on the newly developed, modular and drive-flexible Van Architecture. The VLE offers a generous amount of space, particularly high comfort and a wealth of different equipment options, including for individual shuttle use such as in top-tier hospitality.

in numerous European markets, after the partner programme was significantly expanded for the programme's anniversary

The VanSolution programme and its expansion
  • Mercedes-Benz VanSolution industry solutions ex works have stood for tailored conversion solutions available directly from the factory for 20 years.
  • The offering ranges from construction and trades, through retail and logistics, to vehicles for food transport, including online grocery, gastronomy and retail.
  • For the anniversary the partner programme was extensively expanded to 33 Mercedes-Benz VanSolution partners in numerous European markets, with an even broader industry spectrum.
  • Emergency and municipal vehicles and passenger transport have been added to the industries previously covered.
  • All solutions from the Mercedes-Benz VanSolution Partners and Mercedes-Benz VanPartner are integrated into the Mercedes-Benz Vans online presence.
  • For customers this means simpler access to a wide variety of tailored industry solutions combined with high vehicle expertise; the refrigerated vehicles can be configured individually and offer tailored solutions for transporting perishable foods and sensitive goods.

Why this matters

The show is about how vans keep food and sensitive goods cold on the way to kitchens, shops and hotels, and the new electric eSprinter can run its cooling unit from the vehicle's own electrical system. Buyers in gastronomy, hotels, food retail and online grocery delivery are the customers targeted, and Mercedes-Benz says its VanSolution partner network now reaches 33 partners across numerous European markets.
