The vehicle scope spans Cadillac electric models including the Lyriq, Optiq, and Celestiq; Chevrolet lines from the Equinox EV and Blazer EV to the Traverse and Colorado; GMC Canyon and Acadia trucks; Buick crossovers; and Honda's Prologue along with the Acura ZDX produced under contract assembly.
Investigators from NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation reported receiving 745 incident reports detailing abrupt loss of power brake assist, resulting in firm brake pedal resistance and elongated stopping distances. The agency documented 22 crashes or fire incidents and six injuries attributed to the malfunction, with zero reported fatalities.
