What Happened
Pony.ai reported second-quarter revenue of RMB 246 million, up 68.8% year on year. Robotaxi contributed RMB 81.92 million, a 691.2% increase, while passenger fares grew 849.3% and became a larger part of the business.
The company had 1,975 Robotaxis at the end of June and is targeting more than 3,500 by year-end. Its Guangzhou service now reaches four central districts; Pony.ai said its China user base topped 1.5 million in August.
Pony.ai also said partners had locked in plans for more than 4,000 overseas Robotaxis. A deal with Uber covers more than 2,000 vehicles across five European cities, while the company said its second-quarter net loss narrowed year on year.
Why this matters
The result gives a clearer commercial measure for a company whose growth story has depended on autonomy scale. Passenger fares grew even faster than the Robotaxi line, while the overseas pipeline could let Pony.ai spread its operating model beyond China.
