What Happened
Porsche has established the Smart Battery Shop in Horná Streda, Slovakia, to produce battery modules for the upcoming Cayenne Electric. The facility, spanning 40,200 square meters, was built in close cooperation with Porsche Werkzeugbau GmbH. Construction began in January 2023, and the first module was produced in May 2024.

The Smart Battery Shop facility covers 40,200 square meters.
Each battery module consists of 32 individual pouch cells assembled in a precise process. Six modules form the high-voltage battery for the Cayenne Electric. The production includes stages from cell preparation to end-of-line testing, with real-time data acquisition for quality control.
