What Happened
FADA and Rosmerta Digital Services Limited have concluded a memorandum of understanding that aims to make compliance work easier for India's dealers and vehicle owners. The signing took place in New Delhi during FADA's 8th Auto Retail Conclave. Under the tie-up, Rosmart is now available at Rosmart.com as a platform for compliance services. Citizens log in there to use challan-related services and clear traffic violations that are still pending.
- Bulk case uploads are available to dealerships.
- Dealers can also assist customers who come to them for help.
- Customers can visit Rosmart.com on their own.
- QR codes at participating dealer sites and other customer touchpoints open the service.
The need for a trusted platform has grown as unauthorised websites and online intermediaries multiply, offering to accept money for traffic challans or to settle violations that are still outstanding. According to the announcement, those services can expose citizens to fraud and cybercrime. A credible, transparent digital route, it says, eases compliance while also protecting people from online services that may not be genuine.
The agreement is meant to spread Rosmart through the automotive retail network, putting the service nearer to dealerships and vehicle owners. Rosmerta describes it as part of a wider chance to use technology for the routine steps that come with owning a vehicle.
FADA's signing representatives were CEO Saharsh Damani and president Sai Giridhar. Rosmerta Digital Services was represented by president Hariansh Nagpal, while Rosmerta Technologies was represented by group president Ravi Krishnamoorthi.
Why this matters
Vehicle owners and dealerships in India have had to rely on unofficial sites to pay traffic fines, which the announcement ties to fraud and cybercrime risk. Routing that work through a platform backed by the dealers' association gives people a channel the industry can point them to. Dealerships also get a way to handle cases in bulk for customers who ask for help.
