What Happened

BMW M Motorsport teams had a packed run of race weekends, headlined by Schubert Motorsport's overall victory in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) on the Nordschleife. BMW crews added ten class wins across the NLS double-header, while FK Performance Motorsport strengthened its title bids in both the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany. In the GT4 Italy Series the title is already settled, with Giacomo Maman and Gustavo Sandrucci confirmed as champions before the final two races. Head of Customer Racing Björn Lellmann described it as a successful start to autumn after a hot summer.

“After a hot summer, we have made a successful start to autumn. At the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, we witnessed an exciting NLS double-header with an overall victory for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Schubert Motorsport and great results for the other BMW M Motorsport teams. In ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany, FK Performance Motorsport celebrated important victories in the battle for the titles. In the GT4 Italy Series, the title has already been secured: congratulations to champions Giacomo Maman and Gustavo Sandrucci! We also really enjoyed the BMW M2 Cup races at the Sachsenring. But these were just some of the highlights of recent weeks – congratulations to all the successful BMW M Motorsport teams, and best of luck for the upcoming races!”
— Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport

Rounds eight and nine of the 2026 NLS were held on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife last weekend. In Saturday's race, Jens Klingmann, Ugo de Wilde and Jordan Pepper were unbeatable in the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Schubert Motorsport, the team's second overall NLS victory of the season. Sunday ended early for the same trio after light contact with the track barriers. Gamota Racing took third place in the SP9 Pro-Am class with the #23 BMW M4 GT3 EVO driven by Antal Zsigo, Moritz Kranz and David Jahn, who had secured pole position on Saturday. BMW M Motorsport teams scored ten class wins over the double-header, among them SP10 victory on Saturday for Manuel Metzger, Russ Turner and Alexandru Vasilescu in the #177 BMW M4 GT4 EVO of AV Racing by Black Falcon, who finished second in class on Sunday; Richard Gresek, Maik Rönnefarth and Philipp Gresek took third in SP10 in the #155 BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Plusline Motorsport.

The weekends behind the roundup
  1. 4-6 September

Penultimate ADAC GT Masters round at the Salzburgring: Leyton Fourie and Tim Zimmermann win Saturday's race in the #11 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of FK Performance Motorsport and take fourth on Sunday, moving into the championship lead.

  2. 4-6 September

GT4 Italy Series at Imola: Giacomo Maman and Gustavo Sandrucci take a win and a second place in the #16 BMW M4 GT4 EVO of Casals Motorsport, securing the title in both the overall classification and the GT4PA class with two races to spare.

  3. 4-6 September

Other series: third place in GT3 Pro at Imola's three-hour Italian GT Endurance race for Mathias Villadsen and Jan Magnussen, second places at Donington Park for Century Motorsport in British GT, and a BTCC Independent-class win for Charles Rainford at Croft.

  4. 11-13 September

BMW M2 Cup at the Sachsenring and GT Cup Series at Brno: Michael Schrey takes his seventh win in seven races and Christopher Holst wins his first in the rain, while BMW crews score four victories in the Czech Republic.

  5. Last weekend (NLS rounds eight and nine)

Schubert Motorsport's #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO wins overall on Saturday on the Nordschleife; the same car retires early on Sunday, and BMW teams collect ten class wins across the two races.

FK Performance Motorsport runs both the BMW M4 GT3 EVO and the BMW M4 GT4 EVO and has title chances in two championships this season. At the penultimate ADAC GT Masters round at the Salzburgring from 4 to 6 September, two endurance races were held, each with two mandatory pit stops, refuelling and a tyre change; Fourie and Zimmermann won Saturday's race in the #11 car and took fourth on Sunday to lead the standings ahead of the October finale at Hockenheim. At the Sachsenring a week later, Gabriele Piana and Benjamin Sylvestersson won from pole in the #51 BMW M4 GT4 EVO in the penultimate ADAC GT4 Germany round, cutting their deficit in the overall standings to five points, while team-mates Luca Link and Luis Moser finished fifth in the #49 BMW M4 GT4 EVO to leave the team second in the team standings, 13 points back. 'I am obviously very happy with the victory,' said Sylvestersson. 'Gabriele did the whole job in the first stint, so I just had to bring the car home. It is a great result for our title hopes.' Sunday's ADAC GT4 Germany race could not be held because of damaged kerbs and rain, and ADAC is examining whether it will be rescheduled at the Hockenheimring.

Previously from BMW

BMW M Motorsport's mid-September form also included a DTM win at the Sachsenring, a circuit that features again in this roundup. Marco Wittmann took BMW M Motorsport's first DTM victory there from pole, then charged from 19th to sixth on Sunday to keep his title chances alive.

This roundup matters to anyone following BMW's customer racing programme: it shows which teams and drivers are still in title contention as the ADAC GT Masters, ADAC GT4 Germany and other series head into their season finales in October. It is also the story of young BMW M works driver Ugo de Wilde taking his first overall NLS win on the Nordschleife.
