Tesla activates Cybertruck-to-home outage power for Powerwall 3 customers
Tesla is enabling bidirectional Cybertruck-to-house backup for Powerwall 3 households, adding up to 11.5 kW of AC output during an outage when the truck is connected through a Wall Connector.

What Happened
Powershare Home Backup is rolling out to Tesla customers with Powerwall 3 and a Cybertruck. Tesla says the truck can deliver up to 11.5 kW of AC power to a home through the required Wall Connector during an outage.
Tesla estimates that the Cybertruck can extend a home's backup supply by more than three days, or provide the equivalent capacity of about nine Powerwalls. The company says owners of the older Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+ systems are due to receive support later this year.
Why this matters
The rollout turns the Cybertruck into a larger residential backup asset and gives existing Powerwall owners a second source of stored energy. It also brings a long-promised feature into customer use while leaving Powerwall 2 and Powerwall+ compatibility for a later update.
