What Happened

Xpeng formally rolled out the Mona L05 on October 29, expanding its value-focused sub-brand into mid-size crossovers. The five-passenger vehicle carries standard catalogue prices between 144,800 yuan and 176,800 yuan, supported by an introductory cash rebate that reduces the entry hurdle to 139,800 yuan for early reservation holders.

Customers can choose across six specification grades split between pure electric and range-extender architectures. Pure electric versions achieve up to 635 kilometers of CLTC driving radius, while the hybrid derivative pairs a 310-kilometer electric reserve with an auxiliary combustion generator for 1,310 kilometers of overall driving distance.

The crossover sits on a 2,940-millimeter wheelbase with an overall body length of 4,870 millimeters. Higher trims integrate proprietary Turing computing chips rated up to 1,500 TOPS to execute advanced driver-assistance software, while vehicle chassis engineering accommodates both left-hand and right-hand steering layouts for distribution across 65 export destinations.

Why this matters

Offering both battery-electric and extended-range configurations helps the automaker capture suburban buyers while establishing a standardized global architecture for export markets.
