What Happened
For the 2025 model year, Ford has made the 89.9-kWh high-voltage battery standard on the E-Transit 148-inch Wheelbase Cargo Van and the 178-inch Chassis Cab/Cutaway. An optional Mobile Charge Cord now includes a fast charger adapter, and Smart Acceleration Truncation is available as a freestanding option for E-Transit.
Exterior updates focus on a new 50/50 hinged rear cargo door. A 180-degree rear opening is standard on low/medium roof Cargo Vans and all Passenger Vans, while a 253-degree opening is standard on high roof Cargo Vans and optional on low/medium roof Cargo Vans. Inside, a new Large Grab Handle Kit adds D-pillar grab handles to regular and long length Cargo Vans, and a new Wall Liner Kit includes interior lighting and wheel well covers.

Why this matters
For fleet buyers and upfitters, the standard 89.9-kWh battery on popular E-Transit configurations improves range without extra cost, while new Electrician, General Contractor, and HVAC packages simplify ordering. The 253-degree rear door opening makes loading easier in tight spaces, and an optional fast-charger adapter adds charging flexibility.
