What Happened
Nissan has fully unveiled the all-new 2027 Rogue Hybrid, extending its core U.S. nameplate with the company's proprietary e-POWER hybrid technology. Nissan says the model was developed to cater to evolving market dynamics and customer expectations and is intended to support its growth ambitions in the U.S. market over time. The company describes the launch as its long-term vision plan taking shape in practice, through a stronger portfolio, more focused market growth and enhanced competitiveness. The United States is central to that plan as one of Nissan's three lead markets and a key engine of growth and profitability.
“The all-new Rogue Hybrid is exactly what customers have been asking for: the functionality, technology and packaging of a Rogue, now paired with an advanced hybrid powertrain that enhances efficiency while delivering a dynamic driving experience. By listening closely to customers and designing around their needs, we've created a hybrid SUV that delivers an agile and spirited driving experience while adding the benefits of a hybrid powertrain. The instantaneous torque delivery, with a quiet and efficient powertrain, will redefine what hybrid means in this segment.”
The Rogue Hybrid uses Nissan's e-POWER hybrid system, which the company says has been tested, refined and evolved over three generations, with nearly 2 million e-POWER-equipped vehicles sold globally in 68 markets since 2016. In the system, only electric motors drive the wheels and the gas engine is never connected to them, which Nissan says makes the Rogue Hybrid smoother, quicker and quieter than competing hybrid SUVs, and the only hybrid in its class with a 100% electric drivetrain. For the Rogue Hybrid, e-POWER was specifically tuned for the North American market, reflecting the desires, preferences and typical road conditions of American drivers. The vehicle will be assembled at Nissan Motor Kyushu in Japan.

Previously from Nissan
Nissan has been expanding its e-POWER hybrid line-up: in mid-September 2026 it said it would invest £170m to build an all-new Kicks compact crossover at its Sunderland plant, giving the e-POWER hybrid model its European debut at a facility marking 40 years of production. Days earlier, the company said it would reorganize its Japanese plants around vehicle families and move several models between sites, aiming to sell more at home and export more.

Why this matters
The Rogue is a core Nissan nameplate with nearly 4 million units sold across three generations, so adding a hybrid extends what the company offers in the compact SUV segment. Nissan says the United States is one of its three lead markets and a key engine of growth and profitability, making this launch part of its long-term vision plan. The model will be assembled in Japan for U.S. buyers.
