What Happened
BMW and SOLARWATT are strengthening their partnership to deliver holistically optimized home energy solutions. With the launch of the Neue Klasse models iX3 and i3, BMW introduces bidirectional charging technology. The integration with SOLARWATT’s Home Energy Management System (HEMS) allows the electric vehicle to serve as additional storage for solar power, feeding energy back to the home when needed. The market launch is planned for late 2026 in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
