BMW's F 450 GS Gets Pricier in India, With the GS Trophy Up Rs 30,000
BMW Motorrad has raised the asking price of every F 450 GS variant in India, and the bike itself is completely unchanged.
- Rs 4.95 lakh
- Rs 5.60 lakh
- Rs 30,000
- 48hp and 43Nm
What Happened
BMW Motorrad has raised what it asks for the F 450 GS in India, and all three variants are affected. The Base and mid-spec Exclusive versions each moved up by Rs 25,000, while the range-topping GS Trophy gained Rs 30,000. Nothing else about the motorcycle changed: no engine work, no new kit, no fresh colours. Buyers now pay between Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 5.60 lakh, ex-showroom.
- Rs 4.70 lakh to Rs 4.95 lakh (+Rs 25,000)
- Rs 4.90 lakh to Rs 5.15 lakh (+Rs 25,000)
- Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 5.60 lakh (+Rs 30,000)
Rs 30,000
The largest increase of the three variants, taking the flagship to Rs 5.60 lakh ex-showroom.
The F 450 GS is produced only in India, at BMW's Chennai factory, and exported to markets that include Europe, where it is pitched at riders on an A2 licence. BMW has not explained the move, but tighter supply and costlier inputs are thought to be behind it, against a backdrop of growing worldwide demand for adventure motorcycles below 500cc.
- A 420cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine turning out 48hp and 43Nm
- Six-speed gearbox with ride modes Rain, Road and Enduro
- 43mm upside-down front forks, paired with a rear monoshock
- Stopping power from discs front and rear plus ABS Pro, traction control and engine brake control
- Heated grips remain standard; cruise control is still unavailable, even as an add-on
Equipment carries over as well. A colour TFT screen handles Bluetooth connectivity, and the bike keeps a USB Type-C port, an on-board computer, adjustable levers and heated grips. The GS Trophy is the only variant offered with the Easy Ride Clutch and adjustable sport suspension. Cosmic Black is available on Base and Exclusive. Racing Blue identifies the GS Trophy, which also gets white hand guards, a Rallye windscreen with tint, chassis parts in white and an aluminium guard beneath the engine.
Why this matters
Buyers in India now pay more for the same motorcycle, since BMW added Rs 25,000 to two variants and Rs 30,000 to the flagship. Because the model is built in Chennai and exported to Europe and beyond, the revision also touches overseas riders shopping in the sub-500cc adventure segment.
