Bosch posts 3.6% sales rise to 46.4 billion euros in H1 2026 and reaffirms full-year outlook

Bosch's first-half sales rose 3.6 percent to 46.4 billion euros, but operating EBIT slipped to 2.2 billion euros as special effects in its Mobility business weighed on the result.

What Happened

The Bosch Group reported first-half 2026 sales revenue of 46.4 billion euros, up 3.6 percent from 44.8 billion euros in the first half of 2025, describing the results as solid in a business environment that remains challenging. The HVAC business recently acquired from Johnson Controls and Hitachi contributed some 2 billion euros to that sales growth. EBIT from operations stood at 2.2 billion euros, down from 2.3 billion euros a year earlier. The EBIT margin from operations was 4.6 percent of sales revenue, compared with 5.1 percent in the previous year. Bosch said the result was primarily impacted by special effects in its Mobility business.

“With solid sales growth in the first half of the year, we see ourselves on the home stretch for 2026, but we still need a strong finish. That is why we are steadfastly pursuing the structural adjustments and cost-cutting measures we have initiated, so that we can continue to make major upfront investments in emerging technologies and capitalize on growth opportunities.”
— Markus Forschner, chief financial officer and deputy chairman of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH

Despite numerous economic and geopolitical uncertainties, Bosch is reaffirming its forecast for sales and result for the full year. The company says it is continuing the structural adjustments and cost-cutting measures it has initiated so it can keep making major upfront investments in emerging technologies and seize growth opportunities. The half-year figures were presented for the first time by chief financial officer Markus Forschner, who is also deputy chairman of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH. The figures were announced from Stuttgart, Germany.

Previously from Bosch

Bosch's Mobility business is its largest sector: as our earlier coverage of its IAA Mobility 2026 release noted, it generated 55.8 billion euros in 2025, about 61 percent of group sales. Our report on Bosch's IFA 2026 corporate overview put the wider group at 91 billion euros in 2025 sales and roughly 413,000 associates. Those figures frame the scale of the half-year numbers Bosch has now released.

Why this matters

Bosch is a major global technology and services supplier, so its profitability trend reaches beyond its own books: the EBIT margin from operations fell to 4.6 percent from 5.1 percent a year earlier. By reaffirming its full-year sales and result forecast while pressing ahead with structural adjustments and cost-cutting, Bosch is signalling how it expects the rest of 2026 to unfold for its customers and workers.
