DPD orders 341 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vans for its UK electric delivery fleet

What Happened

DPD has chosen Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle retailer eStar to supply 341 eSprinter electric vans, Mercedes-Benz Vans announced from Milton Keynes on 10 September 2026. The order sits inside a broader fleet deal covering the parcel delivery firm's UK operation. Deliveries have already started.

Rollout schedule
  1. 10 September 2026

Mercedes-Benz Vans announces that DPD has ordered 341 eSprinters, supplied by dealer eStar.

  2. September 2026

    The first vans enter service.

  3. End of October 2026

Every van is scheduled to be operational.

DPD says the addition lifts its British electric fleet past 4,000 vehicles. The new vans join the company's UK network before the busiest Christmas weeks, timing the company links to rising customer demand and to a further step in its shift toward lower-emission deliveries. Mercedes-Benz says the schedule is meant to keep service levels steady across the network during that demand peak.

Support attached to the order
  • Mercedes-Benz ServiceCare Complete covers each van's repairs and maintenance, delivered through dealers across the country, with the aim of maximising uptime.
  • Connected vehicle technology can flag DPD and its nominated dealer when a van may need attention, so maintenance is scheduled before a breakdown forces the vehicle out of service.
  • Authorised dealers nationwide carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs, work Mercedes-Benz expects to bring long-term aftersales revenue to its retailer network.

The dealer holds Mercedes-Benz authorisation for commercial vehicles and operates six sites across North West England and North Wales. Its role in the order covers vehicle supply as well as the dealer-network support attached to the vans.

Why this matters

Parcel operators are increasingly judged on the emissions of their delivery fleets, so an order of this size shows how electrification is moving through the light commercial vehicle market. For DPD, the timing matters because the vans must be running before the Christmas peak. For Mercedes-Benz and its dealer eStar, it also brings years of servicing, repair and maintenance work.
