What Happened
FAW-Volkswagen put the ID. AURA T6 on sale on Sunday, debuting the AURA series with a five-seat mid-size electric SUV. A Volkswagen Group China record identifies the vehicle as the ID. AURA T6. Buyers can choose from four variants, and the cheapest of them costs less than the figure quoted when pre-orders opened. The vehicle is the brand's first all-electric SUV to carry LiDAR, a step the company is using to sharpen its position in China's electric-vehicle market.
The T6 uses the CEA architecture. The car also has HS8, an assistance package for urban and highway NOA plus full-scene parking.
Prices run from 129,900 yuan, or about $19,240, to 166,900 yuan across the four variants. Pre-sales that began on August 28 ran from 135,900 yuan up to 169,900 yuan, so the launch entry point dropped by 6,000 yuan, roughly 4.4 percent. Range tops out at 660 km on the CLTC cycle.
