What Happened
FAW-Volkswagen will bring the five-seat ID. AURA T6 to Chinese showrooms on September 20. The company began taking pre-sale commitments on August 28 across four versions.
The pre-sale band is 135,900 yuan to 169,900 yuan. The model is the first entry in FAW-Volkswagen's AURA range and adds LiDAR to Volkswagen's all-electric SUV lineup.
Two battery choices give the SUV stated CLTC distances of 540 or 660 kilometers, with a single motor rated at 170 kW. Higher trims combine a 192-channel LiDAR with Carizon's driver-assistance stack, built around Horizon Robotics' Journey 6H processor.
The vehicle is based on CEA, the China Electronic Architecture developed by Volkswagen and Xpeng. Its cockpit uses a 4-nanometer processor and supports over-the-air updates, while the cabin includes a 15.6-inch central display and a 25.8-inch augmented-reality head-up display.
