Underneath the exterior sheet metal, the ID. Aura T6 relies on a rear-mounted permanent magnet motor delivering a maximum rating of 170 kW. Buyers choose between two lithium iron phosphate energy packs: a 59.9 kWh unit providing 540 km of range or a larger 77.5 kWh pack capable of covering up to 660 km under CLTC test cycles. The five-passenger cabin features a 15.6-inch central display backed by a 4-nanometer processor, complemented by a 10.25-inch instrument readout and a 25.8-inch augmented reality projection. For automated travel functions, higher trims deploy Horizon Robotics Journey 6H silicon providing 420 TOPS of processing power to support navigate-on-autopilot capabilities on expressways and urban arteries.
Why this matters
The ID. Aura T6 is one of the initial mass-production vehicles engineered on the China Electronic Architecture co-created by the Volkswagen Group and Xpeng. By combining localized digital cockpit hardware and LiDAR-assisted highway navigation with an entry price of 129,900 yuan, the joint venture aims to defend its mid-size SUV presence in China against competing battery-electric alternatives.
