What Happened
Ford has unveiled the Mustang GTD Spirit of America, a special edition celebrating America's 250th birthday and the car's record Nürburgring lap of 6:40.835. The name pays tribute to land-speed legend Craig Breedlove, who first broke 600 mph.
The Spirit of America features an asymmetrical exterior livery with Race Red and Lightning Blue stripes on a Performance White body, set in an offset pattern that reinterprets the Mustang tri-bar. The design highlights the carbon fiber silhouette, and the car rides on Forgeline wheels.
Under the hood, the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 remains unchanged, delivering 815 horsepower and a top speed of 202 mph. The interior includes available 3D-printed titanium accents and high-performance ergonomics.
