Iveco Bus shows 110 kWh electric minibus eFlexy in Madrid, deliveries from Q1 2027
Iveco Bus has introduced the eFlexy zero-emission passenger range in dual specifications, pairing a 110 kWh battery system with an operating radius of more than 300 km on a single charge.
- 110 kWh
- 205 kW
- up to 300 km
- up to 150 kW
What Happened
Iveco Bus took the wraps off the eFlexy, a battery-electric minibus, at the FIAA show in Madrid, where it made its European debut between 22 and 24 September. The vehicle sits in the M2 class and, in both versions, stays under the five-tonne gross vehicle weight ceiling that the class sets for passenger transport. Italian coachbuilder Olmedo supplied the bodywork. Iveco Bus expects the first customer vehicles to arrive in Q1 2027.
300km
Iveco Bus quotes 300 km of range per charge from a 110 kWh battery.
Both versions run the same 205 kW electric powertrain and a 110 kWh battery. Iveco Bus quotes up to 300 km between charges. For AC charging there are 7.4 kW and 11 kW options, with 22 kW available as an extra, and DC fast charging reaches 150 kW. A 20-80% DC top-up takes about 45 minutes according to the manufacturer, which also says 15 minutes can add as much as 100 km and that the best case gets to 80% in less than an hour. Weight was pared back with aluminium panels and ABS parts, a change Iveco Bus says stretches range without hurting robustness or build quality.
- Tailored for metropolitan transit corridors with frequent boarding cycles, accommodating a ceiling of 17 riders alongside the operator, with an accessible layout option featuring a rear lift.
- Targeted at regional connections, shuttle loops and on-demand mobility networks, providing 13 passenger spots alongside the operator, with wheelchair adaptations supported.
“With the eFlexy Line and the eFlexy City, Iveco Bus is expanding its zero-emission offering into a segment that is gaining strategic importance for operators: compact, accessible, and flexible passenger transport. Available as City and Line versions, this new electric minibus series covers a broad spectrum of daily applications – from urban routes to demand-responsive services and shuttle operations – and supports our customers in implementing their decarbonisation strategies.”
Marco Zanchetta, who heads product management at Iveco Bus, noted during the presentation that municipal fleets are widening on-demand coverage and scaling city grids. Commercial offerings will span Class A and Class B configurations.
Why this matters
The eFlexy gives operators of compact, accessible shuttle and on-demand services a zero-emission option from Iveco Bus, a segment the company describes as growing in strategic importance. The bodywork comes from Italian coachbuilder Olmedo, and initial customer vehicle deliveries are targeted to commence in early 2027, so operators can plan fleet replacements around that window.
