What Happened
Opel is using the 2026 Paris Motor Show to display a young SUV family alongside two world premieres, the visionary STX Concept and the GSE 27FE GEN4 racing car. The Mokka GSE everyday sports car, the top-of-the-line Grandland Electric AWD and the family-friendly Frontera Electric Extended Range are on show as prime examples of Opel's multi-talented SUV offer. Opel says all three SUVs are contributing significantly to the manufacturer's growth momentum. Opel and Vauxhall increased passenger car sales in the first half of 2026 by more than 7 per cent worldwide and around 12 per cent in Europe compared with the previous year, while the SUV family grew by more than 37 per cent globally, a success the brand attributes to the Grandland, Frontera and Mokka.
The Mokka GSE is the fastest all-electric production Opel to date, with a top speed of 200 km/h and a peak output of 207 kW (281 hp) that matches its motorsport counterpart. It delivers 345 Newton metres of immediate torque and accelerates from a standing start to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. The hot series sports car is based on the Opel Mokka GSE Rally competition vehicle and was crowned 'Best Small Car' and awarded the 'Golden Steering Wheel 2025' in Germany. Its technology includes a mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential and a lowered chassis with specially designed axles, anti-roll bars and new shock absorbers with hydraulic bump stops, while all high-voltage components come from the Mokka GSE Rally. Rally-inspired GSE inserts appear on the front apron and rear, Alcantara GSE performance seats with integrated headrests hold driver and co-driver, and the GSE-style displays show performance data, G-force, acceleration values and battery management data.
207 kW (281 hp)
Fastest all-electric production Opel to date, with a 200 km/h top speed and 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The Grandland Electric AWD is the first battery-electric Opel with all-wheel drive and is built in Germany. It offers a total system output of 239 kW (325 hp) and up to 509 Newton metres of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. Its chassis uses adaptive Frequency Selective Damping technology and drivers can choose between 'Normal', 'Eco', 'Sport' and '4WD' modes for optimum road contact and grip in all conditions, including on snow or when towing a caravan. The SUV can travel up to 502 kilometres on the WLTP cycle, and its 73 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery (usable capacity) recharges from 20 per cent to 80 per cent at a public fast-charger in around 30 minutes. Standard equipment includes a transparent pixel box in the centre console for wireless smartphone charging, Intelli-Seats and the award-winning glare-free Intelli-Lux HD light.
The Frontera rounds off Opel's Paris SUV range as a practical, family-friendly and affordable model with space for up to seven people. Customers can choose from conventional to electrified and fully electric powertrains, and the battery-electric Frontera Electric uses an 83 kW (113 hp) motor in two versions. Cabin features include comfortable Intelli-Seats with an ergonomic recess in the middle, a smartphone station, a wireless charger and up to five USB-C ports in the seven-seater variant. A flexible strap in the centre console holds larger devices such as tablets, while smartphone pockets in the front seat backrests and other open storage areas with rubber lining prevent rattling and sliding. With the rear seats folded down, luggage space reaches up to around 1,600 litres, with added versatility from the 60:40 split of the rear bench.

Previously from Opel Automobile GmbH
Opel's Paris Motor Show display continues themes from our earlier coverage of the brand's line-up for the event. MotorClaw previously reported that Opel was taking two world premieres to Paris — the STX Concept design study and the GSE 27FE, its Formula E GEN4 race car — alongside the new Corsa GSE and Astra GSE Line, with the STX Concept previewing an electric estate and the GSE range topped by the over-800-hp GSE 27FE. Before that, we reported that the all-electric Corsa GSE, Opel's most powerful Corsa yet, covered 1,555 kilometres from its Zaragoza production plant to make its public debut at the show.

Why this matters
The three SUVs sit at the centre of Opel's growth: the brand says its SUV family grew more than 37 per cent worldwide in the first half of 2026, well ahead of its overall passenger-car sales. For buyers, the line-up spans a rally-inspired compact, an all-wheel-drive family SUV for all weather, and an affordable electric model offered with two battery sizes.
