What Happened
The KTM X-Bow GT-XR received its first formal technical revision on October 27, 2026, headlined by the Factory 600 power pack and structural aerodynamic options.
At the mechanical core, the optional package revises the mid-mounted 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder engine sourced from Audi. Incorporating a bespoke intake manifold, a higher-capacity turbocharger, and an enlarged heat exchanger, the powertrain gains 99 bhp to achieve 592 bhp (441 kW) of total output.
- 592 bhp (441 kW), up 99 bhp
- 2.5-litre turbocharged inline-five (Audi source)
- GT2-derived Evo splitter, dive planes, and wing louvres
Track dynamics can be supplemented with the newly introduced Evo aero specification, which transfers design elements from KTM's GT2 motorsport machinery. The package adds an extended front splitter, dive planes, and ventilation louvres atop the front fenders to increase circuit stability.
Cockpit adjustments prioritize day-to-day ergonomics by integrating a 7.0-inch touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, physical folding side mirrors become standard equipment, reclassifying the external camera mirror setup as an optional extra.
Why this matters
The release marks the first product evolution for the X-Bow line following the restructuring of the sports car division under Belgian investment leadership and Indian partner Bajaj Auto. By leveraging Audi's five-cylinder powertrain architecture and racing aerodynamics, the Austrian manufacturer is preserving boutique low-volume vehicle production in Graz while expanding high-output track capabilities.
Terms in This Story
- Dive planes
- Small aerodynamic fins mounted to the front corners of a sports car to generate localized downforce and balance high-speed airflow.
- Intercooler
- A mechanical heat exchanger that cools compressed air from a turbocharger before it enters the engine combustion chambers, improving power density.
