Mercedes wins first access to ProLogium Gen4 cells for testing, no production call yet
Mercedes-Benz will evaluate ProLogium’s latest Gen4 battery cells, but the agreement does not commit either company to vehicle production.

What Happened
Mercedes-Benz has signed a deal to test ProLogium’s newest Gen4 cells, with priority access for the carmaker. The agreement opens an evaluation phase, while any series-production decision remains open.
The work will examine the cells’ electrical behaviour, heat response and safety at Mercedes facilities and outside institutes. The results are intended to show whether the technology could fit future vehicle applications.
The collaboration goes back to 2016 and has included joint cell development. ProLogium says its planned Dunkirk factory could eventually reach 44 GWh of capacity and supply commercial cells to European customers after its first phase is complete.
Why this matters
Testing gives Mercedes an early look at a battery technology that might suit future vehicles. The agreement alone does not show that the cells will enter a car; the tests must first establish whether they are suitable.
