What Happened
Porsche customer team Manthey will field two 911 GT3 R at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14, seeking a third straight LMGT3 class victory. The car has been undefeated at Le Mans for two years, and Manthey enters as a favorite after setting the second-fastest GT3 lap time during the official test day.
“Following the successes of our Manthey customer team over the past two years, there can be only one goal for 2026: class victory.”
Works drivers Ayhancan Güven and Richard Lietz lead the two cars. Güven, the reigning DTM champion, drives car #91 with James Cottingham and Timur Boguslavskiy. Lietz, a six-time Le Mans class winner, pilots car #92 with Yasser Shahin and Riccardo Pera. Hollywood actor Michael Fassbender will also compete in a support race, the Porsche Carrera Cup Brazil.
Why this matters
The race showcases Porsche's customer racing program, with Manthey seeking a third straight win that would underscore the dominance of the 911 GT3 R and celebrate Porsche Motorsport's 75th anniversary.
