What Happened
Dalmia Cement’s Rajgangpur logistics operation in Odisha has added an electric heavy truck supplied by Blue Energy Motors. Tejas Cargo will run the vehicle as part of the cement maker’s transport activity.
The partners did not disclose the truck’s route, payload or charging plan. Blue Energy says its wider green-truck fleet has travelled more than 122 million kilometres across India and is associated with a reported 33,000-tonne reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
Why this matters
The vehicle gives electric heavy-duty trucking a real industrial freight assignment, a useful test of the technology under high-load logistics conditions.
