What Happened
Jiefang CATL, a joint venture of FAW Jiefang, CATL, and TELD, launched the Whale E-Lease Brand at the FAW Jiefang 2026 Global Partners Conference in Chengdu on December 14. The brand focuses on full lifecycle services for new energy commercial vehicles, including vehicle and battery leasing, using a 'vehicle-battery separating' business model to lower purchase barriers. Li Sheng, Chairman of FAW Jiefang, said the brand reflects business model innovation and supports national green strategies. The company plans to grow the fleet to 100,000 vehicles and total assets over RMB 30 billion in three to five years. The first 12 Leasing and Sales Centers were authorized at the launch.
