What Happened
Li Auto has begun its European marketing push with a partnership at the Solheim Cup in the Netherlands. The automaker is using 20 i6 SUVs to transport players and guests during the September 7-13 event, and says the overseas version will carry the Li 6 name.
The Li 6 is scheduled to appear at October’s Paris auto exhibition, where Li Auto says it will present its global range and European business plans. On August 26, management told investors that European sales of the electric SUV were planned for the fourth quarter.

The September announcement did not say which markets would go first, what buyers would pay or how distribution would work. Li Auto says battery-electric vehicles will be its European priority, while L-series extended-range products are intended for Gulf and Central Asian markets.

Why this matters
The announcement moves Li Auto’s European strategy from a broad ambition to a named vehicle and a public timetable. Countries, prices and retail partners are still undecided, so the company has announced the route into Europe without specifying the launch footprint.
