What Happened
Under the agreement, LG Energy Solution Vertech will supply 5GWh of containerized lithium-ion battery storage systems with LFP cells manufactured at its U.S. facilities. The projects are scheduled for 2028–2030 and will meet domestic content requirements, as LG's batteries are made in Michigan and Qcells' solar panels in Georgia. This builds on a previous 4.8 GWh purchase agreement signed in May 2024.
