What Happened
Maserati Corse presented the new technology Maserati project Track Assist by AS.CAR.I at the 2026 Motorsports Club of Clubs (MCC) in Tampa, Florida, with the announcement datelined Modena, October 29, 2026. The presentation took place during the sixth edition of the MCC, organised by Tilke from October 26 to 28, 2026, at The Motor Enclave in Tampa. The system was showcased aboard the Maserati GT2 Stradale during demonstrations and hot laps on the track. Founded in 2019, MCC is described as an exclusive international network of private circuit owners and operators and motorsport clubs, with around 40 organisations from around the world.
- Uses the Active Performance Control (APC) system to actively manage braking and acceleration
- Helps drivers identify the optimal braking points for each track
- Reduces driving errors and maintains the appropriate speed at the apex
- Works in conjunction with the vehicle's integrated braking system
- Aims to build confidence and awareness without compromising the thrill of sporty driving
- Is designed for the circuit and enhances drivers' skills without replacing their talent
The Motorsports Club of Clubs is founded as a network of circuit owners, operators and motorsport clubs.
AS.CAR.I is founded in Italy, growing out of the mOve research group and the PoliMOVE team at Politecnico di Milano.

The technology is integrated into the Master Maserati Driving Experience programme.
The project stems from a collaboration with AS.CAR.I, an Italian start-up founded in 2023 that grew out of the experience of the mOve research group and the PoliMOVE team at Politecnico di Milano and has developed expertise in autonomous driving and technologies applied to motorsport. The core technology, software and algorithms are proprietary to AS.CAR.I, while the collaboration with Maserati focuses on developing the technology's application plus its integration, calibration and validation on the vehicle for Maserati's specific requirements. The Active Performance Control (APC) system at the heart of Track Assist is currently undergoing that integration, calibration and validation on the Maserati GT2 Stradale. Maserati frames the tie-up as part of its commitment to working alongside Italy's leading research and engineering institutions.
640hp
Maserati calls it the most powerful internal combustion engine ever fitted to a road-legal Maserati.
The star of the Tampa event was the Maserati GT2 Stradale, the road-legal version of the racing GT2, powered by the 3.0-litre, 640-hp Nettuno V6. Maserati quotes acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and a top speed exceeding 320 km/h, plus a 60-kg weight reduction compared with the MC20. A static display rounded out Maserati's presence with the MCXtrema, a 740-hp track-only car limited to just 62 units, and the New Grecale SUV, which pairs interior space comparable to a higher segment with a sportier character and everyday usability. Maserati says the introduction of Track Assist will enrich the training offering of the Master Maserati Driving Experience, combining professional instructors with a next-generation learning tool.
Previously from Maserati S.p.A.
Earlier in October 2026, Maserati's racing GT2 — the competition car from which the road-legal GT2 Stradale is derived — made its GT America debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Run by Risi Competizione and driven by Peter Dempsey, it won both 40-minute SRO3 races.

Why this matters
It shows driver assistance being repurposed as coaching: Maserati says Track Assist helps drivers refine technique, build confidence and reduce errors rather than replacing their talent. From 2027 the technology goes into the Master Maserati Driving Experience, so participants in that programme are the first customers affected, alongside the Italian start-up AS.CAR.I that supplies the core software.
