What Happened
In the fourth quarter of 2025, Samsung SDI reported revenue of KRW 3.86 trillion ($2.7 billion), up 26.4% quarter-on-quarter and 2.8% year-on-year. The operating loss narrowed to KRW 299.2 billion, halving from the previous quarter. Battery business revenue reached KRW 3.62 trillion, while electronic materials contributed KRW 236.7 billion with an operating profit.
For the full year 2025, revenue stood at KRW 13.27 trillion ($9.28 billion) with an operating loss of KRW 1.72 trillion. Key achievements included record ESS battery sales, securing 46-series cell orders, and a joint development agreement with BMW for all-solid-state batteries. The company also signed an MOU with Hyundai and Kia for robot batteries.
