What Happened
Pilot launched in a single gram panchayat in Jawhar, Maharashtra
Expanded to nearly 200 villages across 5 states
Tata Motors Foundation's IVDP now covers nearly 200 villages across 103 gram panchayats in five states. In FY 2025-26, it impacted over 115,000 people and aligned with 50 government welfare schemes worth Rs 20 crore. The program has achieved measurable outcomes in Palghar district, including a reduction in seasonal migration from 80% to 25%, a 55% increase in farmer incomes, and a 95% decline in child malnutrition.
“With a presence in nearly 200 villages across the country, Integrated Village Development Programme has demonstrated the power of convergence with government schemes, public-private partnerships and community ownership in driving meaningful change in the most underserved communities.”
Under IVDP 2.0, Tata Motors Foundation is partnering with the Government of Maharashtra to scale the program in 82 gram panchayats using a technology-driven architecture. The model emphasizes community ownership and systemic transformation, moving from implementation-led to co-created, policy-aligned approaches. Initiatives like one-window centers and E-Dost are improving access to digital platforms and government schemes in aspirational districts.
Why this matters
The programme demonstrates how corporate-community partnerships can drive sustainable rural development, reduce migration, and improve incomes and health in underserved areas.
