Volvo Autonomous Solutions and DSV Launch Autonomous Freight Operations Between Dallas and Houston
over 1 million miles
What Happened
Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S.) and DSV have launched autonomous transport services between Aurora's terminals in Dallas and Houston, Texas. During the initial phase, a safety driver will be present in the vehicle. The collaboration aims to strengthen day-to-day performance and build operational experience for expansion to additional routes.
“Autonomous driving is moving towards real-world operations. Our collaboration with Volvo in Texas represents a production, depot-to-depot setup. We see clear opportunities to improve safety and driver comfort, help mitigate a growing driver shortage, and unlock better asset utilization through 24/7 operations for the benefit of our customers.”
V.A.S. will deploy its Autona/freight solution for DSV, combining the Volvo VNL Autonomous with self-driving technology from Aurora and Waabi. V.A.S. has logged over one million miles in regional and local freight since 2023, bringing operational experience to support reliable scaling.
