What Happened
Chery Automobile and technology partner Huawei have formally introduced the Luxeed RX into China's premium automotive sector. Six equipment grades comprise the product portfolio, spanning pricing from 259,800 yuan to 389,800 yuan. The model represents the fourth production vehicle launched under the joint Luxeed venture, joining the earlier S7 saloon, R7 fastback, and V9 people carrier.

3.6seconds
zero to 100 km/h time for dual-motor model
Constructed over Huawei's Tuling chassis structure, the crossover spans 5,020 mm in length, 2,007 mm across its body, and 1,585 mm in height with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Structural composition incorporates 90.5% high-strength steels and aluminium alloys, supported by 38.38 meters of hot-formed press-hardened steel elements.
Powertrain selections offer either single-motor rear drive generating 277 kW or dual-motor all-wheel propulsion combining 160 kW front and 277 kW rear units. Electric drive motors operate at operational speeds up to 21,000 rpm. Energy storage options span 81 kWh lithium iron phosphate alongside 100 kWh ternary lithium battery assemblies, delivering CLTC ratings of 672 km, 702 km, 753 km, 822 km, and 852 km.
Advanced electronic hardware includes 38 perception devices anchored by a four-sensor LiDAR system, featuring an 896-channel imaging unit. Inside the passenger compartment, display interfaces combine a 26-inch head-up visual projection, an adjustable 16.1-inch central touchscreen, and an auxiliary 8.88-inch front display, while seating incorporates 98 embedded sensors with 27 individual air chambers.
Why this matters
The vehicle expands Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance into high-performance fastback crossovers, taking direct aim at rival models like the Xiaomi YU7. Integrating an 896-channel LiDAR configuration alongside advanced chassis electronics demonstrates Chery's strategy to defend domestic market share against aggressive tech-firm newcomers.
