What Happened
Jaguar Land Rover achieved wholesale dispatches of 82,400 units in the second quarter of FY27 ending 30 September 2026, marking a 24% expansion over 66,165 units in the corresponding prior-year period. Worldwide retail deliveries tallied 79,000 units, slipping roughly 7% from a year earlier while tracking steady against 79,892 units booked during Q1.

Delivery growth was paced by North America, where wholesales reached 27,100 units versus 17,879 a year ago, and the home UK market, which climbed to 21,000 dispatches compared with 12,327 previously. Conversely, China remained subdued as factory dispatches dropped to 6,100 units from 11,370, driven by the planned June 2026 conclusion of localized production at the CJLR partnership.
High-margin luxury nameplates formed 77.6% of overall factory shipments, with Range Rover lines contributing 44,900 wholesale deliveries and Defender adding 29,500. Jaguar volume contracted to 800 units amid an intentional phase-out of legacy vehicles ahead of unveiling the electric Type 01 in New York.
Why this matters
The volume expansion reflects recovery following last year's cyber incident that depleted dealer pipeline stock. While wholesale deliveries climbed, China volume retreated after halting local joint-venture assembly, concentrating corporate profitability on core Range Rover and Defender lines.
