Cummins' Ana W. marks 20 years guiding Accelera's new-technology programs

Ana W. moved from Manaus, Brazil, to the United States and has spent two decades at Cummins Inc., where she now serves as a VPI Program Manager for Accelera by Cummins. In this role, she guides teams that take emerging technologies from concept to launch, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality and business functions. Her background includes a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA, and she says engineering requires curiosity, adaptability and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

Ana describes her current work as managing VPI programs, often involving products not yet on the market. Her responsibility is to work with a cross-functional team to capture the voice of the customer and deliver a product that meets quality, customer and cost requirements. She said she wanted to continue learning from experienced professionals and be part of a company that invests in new product development. Launching a new product is not an easy task, and Cummins takes the new product development process very seriously; she is proud to be part of a team that strives to deliver superior results.

Outside work, Ana enjoys traveling, hiking, caring for her roses, participating in CrossFit and spending time with her husband, Travis, and their three children.
