What Happened
The MotoGP paddock continues its flyaway tour with a stop in Indonesia for the seventeenth round of the 2026 season. Ducati has left its mark at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit with three overall victories: Pecco Bagnaia in 2023, Jorge Martín in 2024 and Fermín Aldeguer in 2025. Last year's edition was not particularly lucky for the factory team, with Marc Márquez involved in a crash and Bagnaia crashing on lap 8 following a tough weekend. Even so, Aldeguer's victory and Álex Márquez's third place confirmed the high competitiveness of the Desmosedici GP at this circuit.
Marc Márquez arrives in Indonesia second in the general standings, just two points off the leader, after a flawless weekend in Motegi where he took the maximum tally of 37 points by winning both the Sprint and Sunday's main race. Francesco Bagnaia continues to work closely with the team to regain competitiveness and consistency, and approaches the Indonesian weekend focused on making a step forward and fighting back at the front. Ducati leads the constructors' standings on 469 points, while the Ducati Lenovo Team is second on 495 points.
Pecco Bagnaia wins at Mandalika, one of Ducati's three overall victories at the circuit.
Jorge Martín takes another victory for Ducati at Mandalika.
Fermín Aldeguer wins for Ducati, with KTM's Acosta second and Ducati's Álex Márquez third.
Bezzecchi (Aprilia) takes pole position in 01:28.832 and wins the Sprint, while Aldeguer (Ducati) sets the GP fastest lap at 01:30.499.
“The Japanese GP went well: we were competitive throughout and fought for the win with everything we had. Ever since Aragon, my feeling on the bike has been consistently good, which gives us confidence. On paper, Indonesia hasn't historically been my best track, and in the past, I've never managed to finish the main race; irony aside, the main objective with the Team is precisely to reverse that trend and put together a strong weekend.”
“At Motegi, we managed to bring home more solid points, though I have to admit I struggled a lot with my riding. Historically, I've been fast and successful at this track, even if we suffered a lot last year. The goal is to keep working with the Team to recover the best feeling and return to fighting for the positions that matter.”

Previously from Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A.
Marc Márquez's form going into Mandalika follows his win at the Grand Prix of Japan for the Ducati Lenovo Team at Motegi, which our coverage reported on 4 October 2026. That victory also marked Ducati's 100th MotoGP win under Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall'Igna.

Why this matters
The Mandalika round matters because Márquez is chasing the championship lead by only two points, so every result is decisive for the title race. Ducati also leads the constructors' standings and its factory team sits second, so the weekend affects the team, its rivals and fans following the championship fight.
