What Happened
Kia India has broadened its assured buyback initiative to encompass the majority of its domestically manufactured nameplates, incorporating the Sonet compact SUV, Seltos crossover, Syros, Sorento, and both Carens and Carens Clavis MPV variants. The locally assembled Carnival premium MPV remains excluded from the scheme, whereas the battery-powered Syros EV has offered buyback terms since entering the market in July.

The guarantee applies across all propulsion options fielded by eligible vehicles, covering petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid, and pure electric powertrains. Participating buyers can secure guaranteed residual valuation reaching up to 75 percent for combustion vehicles and up to 70 percent on electric variants at the conclusion of a three-year window, subject to terms and conditions.
Contract duration choices span three, four, or five years on combustion-engined products, compared with three or four years for electric cars. Depending on term length, annual distance allowances permit 10,000km, 15,000km, or 20,000km, up to a cumulative ceiling of 1,00,000km across ownership. Enrollment takes place through authorized Kia dealership showrooms during vehicle handover.
Why this matters
The initiative bolsters customer residual-value confidence across the brand's volume products, including the Sonet, Seltos, Carens, and Syros. Providing structured buyback guarantees across petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid, and electric variants helps Kia protect used-vehicle valuations in an evolving Indian market.
