What Happened
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, a battery-electric truck, has been added to the training fleet of ECF Pro Boulogne-sur-Mer in Isques, northern France, becoming the first such vehicle in the country. It complements a fleet of 28 training vehicles across nine locations.
“Road freight transport is undergoing a profound transformation. What matters is that training actively keeps pace with this development.”
For driver training, the eActros 600 was modified with a rear bench seat replacing the sleeper berth, allowing space for up to four people, and an extra pedal system on the passenger side. The truck features a 600+ kWh battery capacity, a range of 500 km, and LFP battery technology.
Why this matters
This enables trainee drivers and companies to gain hands-on experience with electric trucks, supporting the industry's shift to climate-friendly transport.
