VinFast signs Federal Bank to fund dealer stock as it builds out its India network
VinFast has struck a deal with Federal Bank to bankroll the vehicles its Indian dealers hold in stock, as the Vietnamese electric-car maker presses toward 75 outlets by the end of 2026.
- 75 by end-2026
- 60th 3S dealership opened
What Happened
The carmaker has signed an understanding with the Kerala-based lender to bankroll dealer inventory, giving outlets working capital to keep cars on the floor and meet demand as the retail chain grows. VinFast said the aim is to make its dealers run more efficiently while the network scales up. The deal was inked by Tapan Ghosh, who heads VinFast Asia, and Kumkum Jain, an additional senior vice-president at the bank.
“A strong dealer network is fundamental to delivering a consistent and seamless customer experience”
The financing arrives as the brand thickens its sales base. VinFast said it had just opened its 60th full sales-service-spares outlet in the country and still aims to hit 75 by the close of 2026, while widening its after-sales and support reach alongside the showrooms.
The bank framed the tie-up as pairing its dealer-lending know-how with a growing retail footprint to help India's electric-vehicle base expand. For VinFast, the arrangement sits within a wider local plan spanning factories, showrooms and service, plus separate deals on lending and charging.
Why this matters
Stock financing lets dealers carry more cars without tying up their own cash, which smooths a fast retail rollout for a brand still establishing itself in India. It is another building block in VinFast's effort to plant a lasting presence in the market.
